Refer a Client, Get Rewarded!
We
want to do business with more great businesses like
yours. That’s why we’ve introduced the CoreTech
Client Referral Program. Here’s how it works: Send a
new business client our way and when they engage our
services, make sure they mention your name and
company. We’ll reward you with a $25 gift card of
your choice to Paradise Bakery, Crane Coffee, Rock
Bottom Brewery or Famous Dave’s!

Quote of the Month
An optimist stays
up until midnight to see the new year in. A
pessimist stays up to make sure the old year
leaves.

A New Year's
Resolution:
Your Most Important One Yet--Security!
by Blake
Britton, Vice President of Axxys Technologies, Inc.
I
know we all feel that we do our best when it comes to
securing both the physical and tangible assets of our
businesses. Most companies feel that by simply locking
doors, controlling who has keys and alarm codes, changing
passwords, and engaging in other basic security measures
they are doing their best to protect the business. I am not
a physical security officer, or loss prevention specialist,
but I do know about "basic" IT policy and how it can help
your business protect its "information" assets.
So here are the
questions of the day: Does your company have an enforceable
IT security policy? Who is directly responsible for the
management and enforcement of this policy? How often is this
policy reviewed and updated?

Technology
Financing--Solutions for a
Growing Business
by
Christopher Elliott
used with permission from the Microsoft Small Business
Center
Your
growing business is ready for new PCs or software. How do
you buy it?
It's a common
challenge for small businesses. New technology purchases top
the list of capital expenditures in a survey of small
businesses, with 43% of respondents saying they planned to
make a buy in the next six months.
But that's easier
said than done.

Upcoming Events

What is CoreExchange?
Hosted by CoreTech, CoreExchange is an informal,
educational meeting for business owners, middle managers
and staff. Formats and topics vary from roundtable
discussions and short product demonstrations to happy
hour events around town.
Are you looking forward to the day. . .
- your
connection to the internet is never in question—it’s
redundant!
- you
don’t have to worry about government regulations
because your business is up to speed.
- your
technology costs are a fixed, monthly fee as opposed
to random expenditures.
- you
don’t have to lose sleep over lack of data backup
and disaster recovery plans.
That day is here! At this educational session and
tour, we’ll talk about how small to midsize businesses
address each of the above, and with less investment than
the big guys!
Join us for a tour of the CoSentry data center. We’ll
have a short presentation and discussion over lunch to
address the above. Then, we’ll tour the CoSentry
facility in Papillion. You will see firsthand how
security, redundancy, and data backup occur.
Tuesday, February 22
11:45 am to 1:00 pm
@ CoSentry in Papillion
Lunch will be provided!
Watch our Web site at www.coretech.us/coreexchange
for more details and RSVP information. |

We have an exciting announcement to share with you!
Up Close & Personal
With--Brian Battaglia
With
the CoreTech team since before its beginnings, Brian
Battaglia enjoys working with a variety of clients in
different industries. “Every day is different, and there
are always new opportunities and challenges. This is
what I find satisfying working in technology,” said
Brian. In the past few years, Brian attended training
and has completed a number of projects involving video
surveillance, analytics and wireless camera solutions.
“I look forward to helping clients with their security
needs.”
Aside from
work, cheering on both kids at their sporting events
often fills Brian’s time on the weekends. Jaden (9
years) is involved in Tae Kwon Do, softball, and soccer;
Jacob (12 years) is also involved in Tae Kwon Do, and
plays football. Brian is a NASCAR fan and he seeks out
NASCAR collectables as well. Around town, Brian’s
favorite restaurants are Vidlak’s Brookside Café,
Millard Roadhouse and Romeos. At home, Brian’s family
enjoys grilling outdoors, and sometimes he can be found
watching Ghost Hunters, Myth Busters or The Big Bang
Theory. His favorite vacation spot—Okoboji!
"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today
is a gift. That's why it's called the present."
